A love story that keeps you guessing, those are the best kind right? At least when you are reading about them.
I thought I knew what to expect when I picked up The Water Is Wide by Natalie Banks. I anticipated an enjoyable book but did not expect the suspense! An emotional adventure for sure.
This book is a page turner. Perfect beach read or weekend getaway book. The story is set mainly on the East Coast, from North Carolina to Boston with a
brief stop in Mexico. A love story, a family story full of complicated relationships and bit of a mystery.
The characters are relatable and honest. Natalie Banks does a beautiful job creating a community of characters you won't soon forget as you dive deeper in to this story.I don’t like to give away spoilers in my book reviews so while I won't overshare I will share this brief synopsis: Sarah Avery and her husband are deeply in love and have built a wonderful life together with their two boys. Thomas Avery drowns suddenly and Sarah is thrown in to a pit of grief, then she meets Collin 14 years later and starts to grieve for Thomas but finds new life and love too. Sounds like something you think you know the ending to already? You don't! There are unexpected twists and turns all throughout this entertaining story. Pick up a copy of this book and enjoy! The settings are beautifully described, the characters well developed, you will even feel like you are dropped into the seasons of the year as you get lost in this story so well told by Natalie Banks.
SOS QUICK CONTENT REVIEW for The Water is Wide
Where'd You Go Bernadette by Maria Semple4/29/2019
8 Comments Where'd You Go Bernadette by Maria Semple / Book Review Book Review By: Heidi SuydamShare this review: Where'd You Go Bernadette by Maria Semple is considered a "comedic novel" and I agree it is funny. I would also characterize it as a light mystery. If you are a mom, the characters will be familiarly funny without being too deep or causing you to be overly reflective of your own life. Overall this is a light read, extremely enjoyable and I highly recommend it. A small synopsis of the story to wet your appetite - Bernadette is a midlife mom, an award winning architect although in her "before baby" life. She is fiesty, quirky and disappears just before a family trip to Antartica is supposed to take place. The story is told by Bee, Bernadette's 15 year old daughter who is on a quest to figure out what happened! What takes place is a story full of crazy twists and turns that are sure to make you laugh and keep turning the page to see what happens next. I don't want to give much more than that away. This is a great vacation read, or weekend book. A wonderful beach book option that will keep you entertained while not draining your brain with overly heavy subject matter. It is creative story telling. I love it! SOS Quick Content Review for Where'd You Go Bernadette:
