Mothers Day Gifts Amazon 5 Quick Thoughtful Gifts for Mom

This year for the first time, I made a birthday gift idea list on Amazon for my family to reference. It felt a little weird at first. To be honest, it felt a little self-centered but guess what? My family LOVED it. It made shopping for me so easy for them!
Ladies - our families want to honor us. Whether you shop here for your own mom, for yourself, OR you are inspired to make a gift list for your family to shop from it doesn't matter to me. I am here to help! That being said - if you are struggling at the last minute to find a thoughtful mother’s day gift for your mom you found the right reference here on #thesosblog! I am forever a last-minute shopper. I drive myself crazy but have learned to just go with it and stop beating myself up about it. Life is life and my life moves fast right now. Changing the last-minute shopper in me is not high on my priority list. I do prefer to support small businesses and when I can I do! Check out my IG for lots of local spots (local = wherever I am at the moment. Usually Northern Virginia or the Nashville Tennessee area!) but there are times I need to buy something at or below budget and receive it *y-e-s-t-e-r-d-a-y* or at least tomorrow. Can you relate? This means Amazon to the rescue for my last-minute self. Moms can be hard to buy for! Especially if you have a #midlifemom. What can you buy for mom when A. she has just about everything she “needs” and B. when she wants something she usually buys it for herself! What are some good gift recommendations for Mother's Day for the #midlife or beyond mom in your life?
Here are a few Amazon Mother's Day gift ideas to help you as you shop!
5 ideas for Mother’s Day gifts1. Gua Sha Tools
Mom’s want to take great care of their skin!
Gua Sha is gaining popularity in Western culture. It is all over the beauty blogs, tik tok, Instagram - I see it everywhere. What is gua sha anyway? It is a practice common in Asian medicine for over 2000 years used to reduce pain and detoxify the body. In Western culture, the facial use of gua sha is the most popular. These tools are used to depuff the face, reduce fine lines, reduce wrinkles and even re-shape. Gua Sha has become a natural alternative to plastic surgery (sign me up! Right?). Disclaimer - there is nothing to sign up for :) seriously. Try these tools. I have some and love them! If you are treating yourself for Mother’s Day buy a set of these. This will add a well worth it 15 minutes to your skincare routine. Often made of jade or another stone like rose quartz they are cooling and refreshing to use. I learned how to use them through IG accounts like Alexandra Gilleo and Youtube videos. Shop Gua Sha tools on Amazon here: ![]() 2. Blue Light Blocking Readers (or just Blue Light Blockers)
This is for moms over 40+ years old who may be closer to 45. If your mom isn’t using readers yet *don’t buy “readers”* just buy blue light blockers. How will you know? Ask her if she uses “readers”. Chances are if she is you’ve heard her say it!
Readers are a way of life when you are over 45 and blue light blockers are now a needed addition. Blue light blockers are glasses that help protect your eyes from the harmful light emitted from all of our devices. Laptops, computer screens, smartphones, and televisions. Adding the “readers” element is especially helpful for moms who work on laptops and phones all day. People who use blue light blocking glasses have reported:
In other words - help mom (and yourself) save your eyes. Almost everyone I know is staring at some type of screen for hours every day. This is a great gift for mom.
**remember - do not buy mom "readers" unless you know she uses them!** Shop Blue Light Blocking Readers and glasses on Amazon here: ![]() 3. Candles for home
I don’t know a mom who doesn’t like candles! I have some burning right this minute!
In addition to being relaxing and creating cozy atmosphere, The Chill Times shares a long list of positive benefits. Burning candles in your home also can increase focus, bring back positive memories, boost your mood, help you with morning or evening routines, promote restful sleep (but blow them out before bed!) and reduce stress! If mom is avoiding toxins (and she should!) you can shop this post for non-toxic options. You should always read the ingredients list for the candles you purchase though. So keep that in mind as you shop! As much as I love candles, the toxicity is a big deal. It depends on the kind of candle you buy; however, most candles release numerous types of toxic chemicals, such as benzene and toluene. Benzene is cancer-causing and toluene affects the central nervous system. The scent itself in a candle can contain thousands of chemicals, and most chemicals have not been tested for toxicity, in combination or alone. Studies show that these chemicals in scents can cause damage to the lungs, brain, and central nervous system, as well as cause developmental difficulties. Numerous people report scented candles triggering asthma attacks and even migraines.
When searching for non-toxic candles search for beeswax or soy candles.

Moms of all ages love pictures!
Fill a photo album with family memories for mom. Sharing pictures on social media is great however having hard copies to look through is even better. Photo albums are making a comeback, just like vinyl records and real life books (wait is that just me?). If you find yourself craving pictures to stick to the fridge or hold in your hands you are not alone. My own gen-z teenage daughters love to print pictures to hang all over their rooms. Mom needs help. If she is older or younger she probably doesn't take time to sort and print pictures. Trust me, she will love a photo album (filled with pictures - don't forget that part!). Drug stores like Walgreens can do same day picture developing currently with 40% off for mothers day (at the time this post was published 04/2021 subject to change). Walmart is another option. Ordering prints is super convenient! You can order them all using your smartphone or computer then go pick them up. One trip. Instead of having to drop the film off and go back, remember those days? Pretty journals are a #momlife staple.
For lists, memories, conference notes, church service notes (even online) or planning purposes journals and pens come in very handy! I like to have a size that fits in my purse. As a mom on a budget I often revert to a small (not very pretty) notebook for some things. Being gifted a pretty journal is a treat! Shop journals and pens here: ![]()
Happy shopping for Mom this year! Be encouraged if you are a last minute shopper (like me!). You can still give mom a great gift!

These are such fun ideas for gifts… or for treats for ourselves! I love candles, but I have been avoiding them because I didn’t know which ones were toxic. Thanks for your suggestions! Xo Nipa
