My first post. To some, no big deal. To me....HUGE.
When contemplating this platform for writing the first thought was, the blog world must be completely saturated and does not need, want or require yet another blogger. However, after researching (one of my passions in life) I discovered this amazing world of bloggers. A wonderful community of people helping each other, sharing ideas, encouraging each other to write and share. I discovered we all have something to say and in the wonderful world in which we have this amazing ability, through technology, to create and share with words, art, pictures, video, music, cartoons...you get the idea, whatever your creative outlet is, you can share it with the world. Being sort of old fashioned at heart, my thinking was inclined to go to pen and ink. My heart had decided that the only way to truly "write" was not online but in "real life" through means that in my view was accountable and permanent - pen, ink and paper all bound in a book.
This brings me to "Simply Our Society My SOS to the world". The first step, relating to the society in which we live. We can truly have "old fashioned" ideas, morals, values, integrity and still live and embrace our society and all it has to offer. As a society we have more things to consider and navigate socially, morally, politically, educationally - truly in every area our lives are far reaching and at times more complicated than our ancestors from say...the 1980's. "Simply Our Society" is intended to be a place to read about all of this - navigating socially through life and love, friendships and family, work and personal life, community and solitude.....
Of course a work in progress, an evolution of a writer, development of a dreamer, daring to share my heart and hear yours about "Simply Our Society". SOS, a noun that means "any call for help" (www.dictionary.com). This is truly my "SOS to the world" because of my passion for people and society. In the world in which I live people struggle socially, relationally and professionally - why is this? what can help?
Wrapping up my first post, thanks for joining me on this journey. -Heidi
