I finally made my first visit to Foundation Coffee in Riverview, FL. Being from this area I can say, this is greater Brandon's first authentic local coffee shop outside of big chain coffee shops such as Starbucks (several in the area) and Joffrey's (no longer in the area). There are other chain/franchise places to grab a decent cup of coffee but if you are like me and enjoy finding a place to sit a while that isn't so commercial then this is the Brandon areas coffee shop spot for you!
When someone says coffee shop you normally think inside four walls. Foundation is all outside which gives this spot an interesting feel but the owners have done a great job creating a coffee shop feel under a big oak tree. The atmosphere was great and the coffee delicious. It was hot in the sun but there are plenty of shady spots and big fans around to help create a breeze, making it quite enjoyable even in the heat. I was there between 10:30 - 11:00am so both the sun and the temperature were climbing.
Seating is arranged in comfortable group settings around tables, or benches, couches and seating at the bar area. There is plenty of parking in a dirt/gravel parking lot. Even a drive through if you want to grab a quick cup and not stay to hang out. This is a pet friendly venue of course, being outside.
When venturing to a new coffee spot there are a few things I always want to know:
Foundation Coffee is located at 10022 Carr Road Riverview, FL 33569. According to their website they will have a new location in downtown Tampa coming soon. Foundation Coffee has a website, Instagram and Facebook where you can stay connected and get up today information about events and hours.
Maybe I'll see you there where we can experience "Community, Coffee, Outdoors"!
If you decide to check it out let me know. I would love to hear what you think!
